New on-line Directory launched to promote Welsh businesses

A new on-line Directory of Welsh Businesses - launched this month by Business Wales to help companies promote their goods, services and credentials - is proving a hit with more than 400 businesses registered to date.

The on-line resource is open to any business in Wales and designed to help companies promote themselves to potential new customers and raise their profile.

Economy Minister Edwina Hart said: “The new Directory is already proving to be an early success with hundreds registering within weeks of it going live. It has the potential to raise the profile of businesses, locally, nationally and internationally and become a great source to identify new customers and suppliers.

“It forms part of our enhanced Business Wales service to support business growth and will provide a comprehensive listing of the range of goods and services available in Wales.

“It will make it easier for businesses to find and buy from other Welsh businesses, encourage a buy local culture and ensure more money is spent and remains within the Welsh economy.”

The Minister added she was confident it would become an invaluable resource and encouraged businesses to register.

The directory can search for businesses alphabetically or by using a combination of keyword searches including, sector, sub-sector, division, region or postcode, alternatively the map listings page can be used to filter results by sector, sub sector and division.

It is being promoted through the Welsh Government sector newsletters and social media channels and is available on the Business Wales website that attracts tens of thousands of visitors every week.

Listing is free and easy to do: https://businesswales.gov.wales/business-directory (external link).
