Operation Pallial subject charged with additional offences

Operation Pallial has charged a 78-year-old man from North Wales with three further child sexual offences.

Gordon Anglesea, from Old Colwyn, was recently charged with two indecent assaults and one offence of buggery. The charges relate to a boy aged under sixteen and the offences are alleged to have taken place between 1982 and 1983.

Gordon Anglesea has been bailed and is next due to appear at Mold Magistrates Court on November 17.

Pallial is an independent NCA investigation into recent allegations of past sexual abuse in the care system in North Wales, being delivered by the NCA at the request of Mark Polin, the Chief Constable of North Wales Police.

In July 2015, Anglesea was charged with five offences of sexual assault and two offences of buggery. The offences are alleged to have taken place against three boys between 1979 and 1987, when they were between 11 and 16 years old.

He now faces a total of ten charges relating to four children.
