Overseas Travel and Tourism, Provisional Results for July 2014

Key points

In the three months May to July 2014, overseas residents visits to the UK are up 5% compared with the same three months a year earlier.
Over the last twelve months, estimates of earnings from overseas residents to the UK continue to rise and are up 3%.
UK residents visits abroad have increased by 4% over the last 12 months with a 8% increase in the proportion visiting friends and relatives.

Today the review has been published, with Ed Humpherson, OSR Director General for Regulation, finding that '...ONS's approach to revisions is appropriate and well managed and our overall conclusion is that the more extreme criticisms that ONS received are misplaced.'
