Programme released and registration open for Discovering Collections, Discovering Communities 2016

Registration is now open for this year’s Discovering Collections, Discovering Communities conference, to be held between 10-12 October 2016 at The Lowry, Salford Quays, Manchester.

Delivered jointly by The National Archives and Research Libraries UK, the conference will look at the varied and innovative ways in which archives, museums, libraries, and academia can help realise the potential of collections and translate this into social, cultural, and economic impact.

Over 80 speakers from across the heritage, cultural, and academic sectors will share their experiences and thoughts regarding cross-sector collaboration, the impact of collections, and how we can all engage with new and diverse audiences.

Register for DCDC and see the full programme.

The conference follows The Gerald Aylmer Seminar and IHR Winter Conference earlier this year that explored the use of archives in research and society. Read Dr Emma Jay’s blogs from the events to learn more about the discussions and debates that took place.
