There have been a number of questions asked about when we will publish the IPCC investigation report.

We do understand that there is a huge public interest in this tragic case and when there is no longer a risk of prejudice, we intend to publish our report.

However, as well as the possible second inquest, there are ongoing disciplinary proceedings at Cumbria Constabulary and the CPS is reviewing the file on Poppi’s death to decide whether to launch a criminal prosecution.

It would be irresponsible for us to publish our investigation report when there is a risk of prejudicing either criminal or disciplinary proceedings.
