Reach for the Stars in the Italian Alps this Christmas Holiday

If you're aged between 16-18 and love astronomy here's an out-of-this-world opportunity for you!

Four lucky people from the UK can win a chance to spend a week this December (Friday 26th Dec to Thursday 1st Jan) on the beautiful Italian Alps doing astronomy activities with people of the same age from across Europe, at the ESO Astronomy Camp 2014.

Fascinating lectures, hands-on activities and night time observations with telescopes from the Observatory, teamed with fun winter sports and excursions are just some of the thrilling activities you will enjoy!

Sound good? The Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) and Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) will pay for four lucky young people from the UK to attend this exciting event, which would normally cost 500 Euros per person. On top of that, two of the four will also have their flights from the UK to Italy included in the prize!

Application is easy. Just fill in the form and upload a video or text on the theme 'Astronomy and myself'. The applicants with the best entry for participation will win.

Hurry - the deadline for applicants to win this fantastic opportunity is 20th October 2014.

The trip includes full board accommodation (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the Hostel of Saint Barthelemy, supervision by professional staff experienced in youth camps, all the astronomical and leisure activities, excursions (with transport) and transfers to and from Milan Malpensa Airport. Two winners will also receive their flights from and to the UK.

Further information about the camp.

We look forward to seeing your entries - good luck!
