Information on the proposed RO grace period for new onshore wind

The government intends to end new public subsidies for onshore wind by introducing primary legislation to close the Renewables Obligation across Great Britain to new onshore wind generating stations from 1 April 2016.

Further to the Secretary of State’s announcement to Parliament on 18 June confirming the government’s intention to close the RO early to new onshore wind and outlining proposals for a grace period, we wish to engage with industry and hear from developers and other stakeholders affected by these proposals.

Further information on the proposed grace period and the engagement process is set out in the information document on this page.

Please send your responses, and any other comments or questions that you may have, by email to onshorewind@decc.gsi.gov.uk by 20 July 2015.

Information on future stakeholder engagement events across the UK will be published on this page shortly.
