Research call: Field testing of online dietary recall system

The FSA in Scotland is inviting tenders to field test of the use of a newly developed online dietary recall system, INTAKE24, in a sample of young people and adults living in Scotland.

INTAKE24 is an online 24 hour dietary recall tool that has been developed over the past two years in a project commissioned for the FSA in Scotland by a team at the University of Newcastle. The tool was designed using an iterative process involving several rounds of user testing in 11-24 year olds. The tool has also been tested against interviewer-led 24 hour recall methodology, which showed good agreement between both methods.

The new research call aims to test the use of INTAKE24 in the field, extend the target audience to the full adult population and incorporate a number of modifications to improve the system as required.

Our requirements

Tenders are invited to carry out a survey to test the use of the INTAKE24 online 24 hour dietary recall programme in the field by collecting dietary intake data (excluding salt intake) from a representative sample of the Scottish population aged 11+ using the existing Scottish health Survey (SHeS) sampling framework.

How to apply

Applications should be submitted online using our electronic procurement system by 5pm on Monday 3 November 2014. To find out more about this call for tender, you will need to register as a supplier on ePPS via the link on this page.
