Review of British Antarctic Territory Legislation - post consultation

Changes to the Official Gazette and new Attorney General and Revision of Law Ordinances.

The British Antarctic Territory (BAT) is undertaking a review of its legislation to update and modernise it. Consultations have now taken place on the first phase relating to changes to the Official Gazette and new Attorney General and Revision of Law Ordinances.

The Official Gazette records all BAT legislation, Orders and official appointments and will now be available digitally via our website. The next Gazette will be available shortly.

The other changes rename the position of Principal Legal Adviser to Attorney General bringing BAT in line with other Overseas Territories and a new revision of Law Ordinance setting out clearly the process we are embarking on to revise the BAT legislation and how laws will be revised and repealed.
