Statement on investigation into Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner after CPS decision

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has informed the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) it has decided that no criminal charges should be brought against the Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire, Olly Martins.

The IPCC independently investigated the disclosure of information about the circumstances surrounding the death in custody of Leon Briggs in November 2013, which is also being investigated by the IPCC. A file was sent to the CPS in August 2014.

An investigation report will now be prepared
