Stephen Crabb: Rural Wales benefits from economic growth too
Secretary of State for Wales Stephen Crabb has yesterday (11 December) visited two businesses in rural mid Wales, in Brecon and Crickhowell, to show how the economic recovery is benefitting people and businesses in the area.
Stephen Crabb said:
Economic growth in Wales should not be limited to our towns and cities, especially when there are so many fantastic businesses in mid-Wales creating jobs and supporting their communities.
I am determined that our whole country shares in the economic recovery so I’m backing businesses that want to invest in mid-Wales and create opportunities for people living there.
Mr Crabb visited Sharp Clinical Services in Crickhowell, a division of Sharp Packaging Services, a global leader in contract packaging to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. They have an established client base of large pharmaceutical organisations and support numerous small to mid-size organisations who may have little or no experience in the clinical supply chain.
He also called in on Tŷ-Mawr Lime Limited in Brecon, a company that specialises in the manufacture and distribution of traditional building materials, in addition to providing training courses on traditional building skills. Buildings, organisations and projects that have benefited from Tŷ–Mawr’s products and expertise include Aberglasney House, the National Botanical Gardens, The Landmark Trust, Dolbelydr, St Teilo’s Church, National Museum of Wales and Worcester Cathedral.
