Survey to identify trade and investment barriers in 7 overseas markets

Department for International Trade (DIT) wants feedback on doing business in Brazil, Colombia, India, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam.

The UK government is planning to hold joint economic and trade committee meetings with Brazil, India, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam by the end of 2016.

Prior to the start of these meetings DIT wants to hear from UK businesses about their trade priorities in these 7 markets. Insight from UK companies could include:

  • your greatest concerns about doing business in and with these countries
  • how your concerns might be addressed
  • specific recommendations for bilateral initiatives that could improve the business climate
  • specific examples of good business practice in these markets and policies which are working well
  • what DIT could do to encourage you to think about exporting to these markets

Feedback from UK business

We would be grateful if you would complete our short survey to help us gather valuable insights into the priorities and activities of the UK business community in these markets. This will help us to understand how we can better assist UK companies in doing business there.

Complete the survey by Wednesday, 7 September 1016.

Please note that this is a secure survey. All sensitive information will be handled securely, but we will follow-up separately on specific deals if they have commercially sensitive information.

Aim of meetings

The aim of these meetings is to discuss bilateral trade and investment issues and to strengthen the UK’s economic, industrial and commercial ties with these markets.

Visit by President of Colombia

The President of the Republic of Colombia, His Excellency President Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, will pay a state visit to the United Kingdom from 1 to 3 November 2016.

The state visit will also offer opportunities to discuss bilateral trade and investment issues.

Contacts

If you have any questions about the survey please contact DIT’s International Unit.
