TUC: Transport Select Committee report shows why government should terminate Southern rail’s contract

Commenting on the recent (Friday) Transport Select Committee report ‘The Future of Rail: Improving the rail passenger experience’, which concludes that Southern rail is in breach of contractual obligations and there may be grounds for termination of contract, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“MPs are confirming what passengers have known for a long time. Southern rail’s management have made a pig’s ear out of the train service.

“Southern simply isn’t providing the service it is contracted to, and have tried to blame staff and unions for its problems. It is time for the government to terminate their contract.”
