TUC welcomes Pay Review Body views on funding and pay for seven day NHS

TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady, commented on the NHS Pay Review Body’s recommendations yesterday (Thursday 16th July 2015) that unsocial hours pay is not a barrier to delivering a seven day service.

“We welcome the independent Pay Review Body’s view that seven day NHS services cannot be introduced by cutting workers' pay and conditions. The government should respect their expert judgment that a genuine seven day service, based on clinical need, will need more staff and funding.”
