TUC welcomes international commission’s report on low carbon growth
Commenting on yesterday’s report ‘Better Growth, Better Climate’ from the Global Commission on the Economy and the Climate, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:
“This excellent report by a highly distinguished commission drawn from across the globe makes a compelling and practical case for how a rapid low-carbon shift can be achieved that delivers economic prosperity too.
“The report shows the value of moving on from debating whether we can solve the problem of man-made climate change to how we will go about doing so.
“We especially welcome the Commission’s recognition of trade union calls that transition must come about through unions, governments and businesses working together to deliver fair social outcomes so that there are no losers as we transform our economies.”
