Take part in the Capital’s summer of cycling

Sign up now for the London Cycle Challenge - and make every 10 minute bike ride count!

Thousands of Londoners are expected to take part in this month's event as organisations and individuals compete against each other for titles and prizes.

The London Cycle Challenge runs from 8 to 28 June and you can enter whether you're cycling to and from work or enjoying a family weekend ride.

Simply register in advance and record all cycle journeys you make. A mobile app, Love to Ride, is available on Apple iOS and Android to make it easier to keep track of your trips. It can also record your journeys automatically using GPS.

People who want to take part but don't have a bike can still participate by using Santander Cycles. London's cycle hire scheme covers 100km2 of the Capital and is available for as little as £2 a day.

More than 100 prizes are up for grabs including £100 in Evans Cycle vouchers, exclusive Time Out experiences, dinner on the Thames and a corporate Lee Valley BMX track experience.

Team GB cycling gear will also be won by organisations with the highest percentage of participating staff.

Ben Plowden, Director of Strategy and Planning at TfL Surface Transport, said: 'Getting more people cycling safer and more often is our aim. As cycling has now become an integral part of the Capital's transport network, the London Cycle Challenge will give everyone working in London that extra boost to make their trips in the saddle.'

Cycle training

As the number of people cycling in London continues to increase, We urge all cyclists to undertake a training session so they are equipped with the skills needed to ride safely.

Every borough in London offers free or heavily subsidised one-toone cycle training, tailored to individual needs.
