The Arts Fundraising Fellowship Programme, the first of its kind in the UK, offers a chance for participants to learn on the job about fundraising in the arts while being supported by a diverse training and learning programme.

Following the success of the pilot programme, which was run in the North, South West and London, it has now been rolled out to include the Midlands and East/South East areas so five Fellows will be supported in each of the five Arts Council Areas. 

The host organisations in each area are: 

East and South East: Artswork, The Ashmolean Museum, Canterbury Festival, People United and Writers' Centre Norwich

London: Apples and Snakes, London Transport Museum, Punchdrunk, Soho Theatre and Studio Wayne McGregor

Midlands: Black Country Living Museum, mac birmingham, New Art Exchange, Nottingham Playhouse and The Royal Shakespeare Company

North: Hallé, Mind the Gap, New Writing North, the Royal Exchange Theatre and Balbir Singh Dance Company

South West: Bristol Music Trust, Nuffield Southampton, The Point Eastleigh, Tobacco Factory and Wiltshire Music Centre 

Clare Titley, Director of Philanthropy and South West, Arts Council England commented: “At a time when arts and cultural organisations up and down the country face such challenging economic factors, fundraising is becoming an increasingly important income stream. That’s why it is fantastic to see a new generation of arts fundraisers receiving training and hands-on experience, as well as the positive impact the programme is having on the organisations involved. I am very interested to see how, over time, the learning and impact can be shared more widely in the sector.”

Applicants are now invited to apply for the 25 Fellow positions for 2015/16 before Friday 27 March at 5pm. Full details of how to apply are here.

The Arts Fundraising Fellowship scheme was initially funded by Arts Council England through our Catalyst programme.  Recognising that arts and culture in this country thrive on a mixed model of earned income, donations and public investment, we are supporting arts and cultural organisations to become more resilient and sustainable as they explore new revenue streams.
