Two weeks to nominate someone truly exceptional for a St David Award

With two weeks to go until nominations close, First Minister Carwyn Jones has urged the people of Wales to get online and put someone truly outstanding forward for a St David Award.

The Awards, now in their second year, honour the extraordinary achievements of the people of Wales. They were created to recognise the great deeds and contributions made by people from all walks of life.

There are nine categories in total, Bravery; Citizenship; Culture; Enterprise; Innovation and Technology; Sport; Young Person; International and the First Minister’s Special Award.

The First Minister Carwyn Jones said:
“Do you know someone who’s done or is doing something exceptional in your community or where you work?
“Do you know a group of people who are going the extra mile to make a difference to someone else’s life, or maybe you know someone who has overcome adversity and gone on to achieve truly inspirational things?
“If the answer is yes, celebrate their achievements, let others know about what they have accomplished.
“With only two weeks to go don’t leave it until the last minute, it would be a shame if the people you think are truly worthy of an award miss out on the recognition they deserve. Nominating is easy, get online and put someone forward.”

Nominations close on the 28 October. To nominate, visit the St David Awards website.
