UK boards miss 25% target for women directors

Many of the UK's largest listed companies still have boards where women make-up less than a quarter of the directors.

Many of the UK's largest listed companies still have boards where women make-up less than a quarter of the directors, which suggests that the Government's push for greater diversity in the workplace is yet to be achieved.

As of mid-May more than half of FTSE 100 companies had less than 25 per cent female representation in the boardroom according to analysis from the Professional Boards Forum.

Seven out of 10 mid-cap companies listed on the FTSE 250 had less than a quarter female directors and 20 of them were made up of all-male boards.
