UK/Azerbaijan foreign policy dialogue

The Minister for Europe, David Lidington, and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Khalaf Khalafov, met in London on 11th February for the first UK/Azerbaijan foreign policy dialogue.

The Ministers discussions covered a wide range of issues, including the EU’s Eastern Partnership, the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, Syria, the situation in Ukraine, as well as human rights and governance issues.

Following the meeting, David Lidington said:

“The UK and Azerbaijan have a strong bilateral relationship, so I welcome the establishment of this important new forum. It presents good opportunities to continue to exchange views and increase understanding on important bilateral and international issues.”
