Universal Credit now available in 70% of all jobcentres

More jobcentres across Britain now offer Universal Credit as 12 more offices take new claims as of yesterday.

Universal Credit is now available in 70% of all jobcentres across the country and as of yesterday all new single jobseekers can claim at the jobcentres below.

The new system is designed to ensure people will be better off in work than on welfare and means they can receive support from jobcentre staff both in and out of work.

single jobseekers are now able to claim Universal Credit in:

  • Darlington
  • Killingworth
  • Whitley Bay
  • North Shields
  • Wallsend
  • Northampton
  • Matlock
  • Clay Cross
  • Staveley
  • Shirebrook
  • Bolsover
  • Watford
