Update on JCMT Ownership

Professor Gary Davis, Director of the JCMT has provided an update on the telescope’s ownership. A process that will lead to the legal transfer of the telescope is underway. This work has progressed well and there are no serious obstacles.

Unsurprisingly, however, some legal issues have taken time to resolve and as a consequence the process has been delayed. The new target date for the transfer of the telescope is 31st January 2015. A science programme for the period to January 2015 is being developed.
