Use contactless to change lives
Today, commuters will being asked to make a difference by donating a penny to charity every day they travel.
Penny for London helps improve the prospects of disadvantaged children and young people across the city. To donate, customers simply register their contactless debit or credit cards. One pence is automatically added to the fare.
Contactless payment is accepted on the Tube, buses, trams, DLR, TfL Rail, London Overground, and most National Rail services that accept Oyster.
Look out for Penny for London volunteers at central London stations, who will be handing out branded Oyster wallets. People who sign up will be entitled to a complimentary coffee and a buy-one-get-one-free breakfast.
