Voting now open for the 2014 STFC Photowalk Competition

Vote for your favourite now!

This summer, we gave more than 200 keen photographers across the country behind-the-scenes access to our world-class science facilities in our 2014 Photowalk Competition, in partnership with the Royal Photographic Society.

We received 700 submissions for the competition. Regional judging has now selected the best 10 images taken at each of our four UK sites:

  • UK Astronomy Technology Centre, Edinburgh;
  • Daresbury Laboratory, Cheshire;
  • Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Oxfordshire; and
  • Chilbolton Observatory, Hampshire.

The 40 images are in line to win one of two top awards: the online public vote winner (chosen by you) and the overall national winner, which will be judged by a panel of professional scientists and photographers.

How to vote

To view the final 40 and vote for your favourite, visit: UK Photowalk website

Voting is open from Friday 19 September 2014 until midnight on Monday 10 October 2014.

The winner of the online public vote will win a trip to CERN for two or £750 in vouchers.

The online public vote winner and the overall regional winner will be announced in the week commencing Monday 13 October 2014.
