WWF calls on the UK Government to publish the 25 Year Environment Plan without further delay

Trevor Hutchings, Director of Advocacy at WWF is calling on the UK Government to publish the 25 Year Environment Plan without further delay

“Our nature is under threat as never before - both here and abroad. With 60% of UK wildlife species in decline we are witnessing a looming crisis for biodiversity.  The UK Government’s 25 Year Environment Plan is therefore urgently needed - every day we wait means our nature and natural places continue to worsen. We need to address this creeping catastrophe.

"This Environment Plan is crucial if we are to protect our natural places and our wildlife at home and tackle our impact abroad.  We need to act now to restore our countryside and rivers, cut emissions, restore our forests, preserve our oceans and protect our wildlife. The UK Government needs to publish this Plan immediately to give the public their chance to have a say over their environment.  Time is ticking and our nature is suffering.”
