Wales Audit Office - Survey launched on audited bodies’ linguistic preferences
The Wales Audit Office have issued a language preference survey asking their audited bodies to state in which language they would prefer to receive documents and services from them.
They conduct a language preference survey every three years as part of the Auditor General’s Welsh Language Scheme, which explains how they give effect to the principle of treating the Welsh and English languages equally.
The Auditor General for Wales, Huw Vaughan Thomas said:
”We are committed to, and take pride in, providing bilingual services. In order to provide our services as effectively and efficiently as possible it is important that our data on organisations’ language preferences is up to date.
As a bilingual organisation, our aim is to always offer our clients and the public a language choice. This triennial preference survey is an important part of our Welsh Language Scheme and I would encourage our audited bodies to make their requirements known by completing our survey.”
The information helps to meet organisations’ linguistic needs by enabling to plan their workforce effectively and further develop their recruiting and training initiatives.
