Wales Audit Office publishes review on progress to its approach to equality 30 Nov 2015

First joint report by the Auditor General for Wales and Wales Audit Office highlights good progress in meeting objectives of Joint Strategic Equality Plan

In 2014-15, the Auditor General for Wales and the Wales Audit Office developed a revised programme of work to help ensure that the necessary arrangements are in place for us to fully meet their equality duties and objectives. Throughout the year we have made good progress on meeting these Strategic Equality Plan objectives, including establishing improved arrangements to seek and take account of the views of people who represent the interests of protected groups, and revising our framework of diversity monitoring questions and categories to better reflect current good practice and recently published guidance.

The report also highlights further work to be undertaken in 2015-16 including an equal pay audit, further efforts to ensure the accessibility of our website and premises, extending the reach of our public engagement, and more fully integrating human rights and equality considerations in our work.
