techUK's big data and analytics 2015 work programme is exploring how UK organisations can unlock, explore and maximise the value of big data and data analytics.

Throughout Big Data Week, techUK is bringing you news, views and insights from the technology sector on the value and importance of Big Data and Data Analytics to driving UK's productivity and economic growth. However, for every organisation and citizen across the UK to realise the full potential, benefits and value of big data, it is important to raise awareness and understanding of where the opportunities lie.

techUK's recently published submission to the House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee's inquiry "The Big Data Dilemma" highlighted the importance of ensuring every organisation and citizen across the UK can realise the full potential, benefits and value of big data. In light of the number of submissions to the Select Committee's inquiry it would seem that the importance of raising awareness and understanding of the value and opportunities of Big Data and Data Analytics is a message that is gaining momentum.

"With over seventy different organisations submitting evidence to the Committee's inquiry from sectors as diverse as healthcare, energy, retail, and finance it is a true testament the reach and scope of Big Data and the importance placed on the value of Big Data technologies to organisations of all size and sector."
