Welsh NHS Confederation responds to Annual Quality Statement

Vanessa Young, Director of the Welsh NHS Confederation, said: “The health service has made many significant achievements in the past year, particularly around innovation and patient dignity and care. Therefore it’s great to see the Annual Quality Statement showcasing some of the brilliant work taking place across NHS Wales.

“These successes have been delivered while the NHS continues carry out a staggering level of activity each and every day. This is no easy feat and the dedication of staff to make improvements and implement new ways of working should rightly be recognised.

“Our members are committed to providing high quality care and it was pleasing that that the recent Fundamentals of Care survey found 99% patients felt they were treated with dignity and respect and 98% felt they were given privacy, made to feel safe and were given help to be as independent as possible.

“However we are not complacent. We know there are areas where improvements can be made and our members will continue to work hard to deliver great care to patients and meet the challenges ahead.”
