Welsh Secretary visits Spectrum Technologies

Secretary of State for Wales visits world leading laser technology company, Spectrum Technologies.

Spectrum Technologies is a world leader in the design and manufacture of specialised state-of-the-art industrial laser systems. The company has its headquarters in Bridgend, Wales, UK where it undertakes design and manufacture of all of its products.

Alun Cairns said:

Spectrum Technologies is a prime example of how Wales now has a growing international reputation for advanced technology. Its laser systems underpin everything from the aerospace industry to medical systems. Their expanding customer base in Asia and North America demonstrates that Welsh companies are doing great business across the globe.

It’s no surprise Spectrum’s success was recognised by a Queen’s Award for Enterprise and International Trade. They are showing a confident face of Wales to the world and helping to drive an economy that works for everyone.

Dr Peter Dickinson, Spectrum Technologies CEO said:

Spectrum’s focus has always been on innovation, leading edge technology and global trading. Our UV laser wire marking technology is now the international aerospace standard and we are the global market leader, exporting 95% of everything we make here in Wales.

We have an ambitious plan to double the size of the business over the next few years and expect to make a major announcement in the near future regarding an imminent key new product development project which is supported with UK Government R&D grant funding.
