techUK Responds to the Impact of the Spending Review Report
Our head of Health and Social Care Adrian Baker comments on the Health Committee's report on the Impact of Spending Review.
Responding to the Health Committee's report on the impact of the spending review on health and social care, Adrian Baker, Head of Health and Social Careat techUK said;
"With an ageing population, the demand for heath & social care is ever increasing and adding strain to an already stretched system. Whilst the last Spending Review did see additional funding allocated for the NHS, it still faces an enormous challenge as the Committee’s report clearly sets out.
“Critical to addressing the rising demands with limited resources will be harnessing the transformative potential of technology to deliver a fully integrated health and social care system to help enable people to live healthier, more independent lives.
“techUK has set out a number of clear recommendations on how the NHS can use technology to transform our nation’s health and do so in a safe, secure and effective way. We urge the Government to work with industry and review our recommendations urgently. We look forward to working with the new Cabinet to continue to deliver a world class health service.
