Advice event for Somerset Levels farmers
14 Apr 2014 04:28 PM
Farmers in the Somerset
Levels are invited to come along to a drop-in advice day in Burrowbridge on
Thursday (17th April) to discuss flood recovery action and find out more about
potential sources of funding.
There will be an opportunity to
discuss the potential sources of grant aid that are available to help farmers
recover their land and to pay for infrastructure refurbishment following the
recent floods.
Farmers can pick up flood relief
grant aid application forms on the day and have their queries answered about
recovery action on their land following the flooding.
Natural England’s local
advisers will be at the event to respond to queries about the impact of the
flooding on agri-environment agreements. Representatives from Defra RDPE
and FWAG will also be attending.
The drop-in sessions are at
10-12noon and 2pm-4pm and the event is being held at the Coronation Hall in
Burrowbridge.
The drop-in day follows a
similar event held last month at The Willows and Wetlands Centre which was
attended by more than twenty-five farmers.
