Crackdown continues on unsafe Limos

The Metropolitan Police has continued its clampdown on unsafe limos in Central London as part of 'Operation Kansas', which ensures limos are roadworthy, adhere to safety standards and keep the public safe.
On-the-spot checks on 28 February resulted in:
- Five drivers being summoned to court with suspected mechanical defects
- Eight Fixed Penalty Notices issued for mechanical defects and drivers exceeding operating hours
- Two vehicles issued with prohibition notices for exceeding operating hours
- One arrest for drink driving
Operation Kansas, which we partially fund, has been in place since March 2012. Since its introduction, the quality of limo companies has improved with most conforming to the vehicle and driver standards for public service.
