The Digital Radio Tick Mark annual review approves changes to the specification to support European adoption

The Digital Radio Tick Mark specification has been updated to become a European-ready technical specification.

The main changes from the current specification are:

There will be a 3 month transition period where manufacturers can apply for the tick mark using both the current and the new specification. Following the 3 month period, only the new specification will apply. The 3 month period will start once ETI files are available to carry out testing to the new specification which is expected to be in the very near future.

Paul Hide, Director of Operations techUK, commented: "We support these changes as they will enable the role out of the Tick Mark as a communication tool to aid consumers across Europe. This has the dual benefit of helping to promote the growth of Digital Radio in multiple markets and helps radio manufacturers standardise product packaging and messaging."
