Disabled people talk sport and activity

Meet Cassie. Cassie loves to jog and enjoys running as part of a club

Cassie is one of five disabled people with a range of impairments who discuss how they first became active in the English Federation of Disability Sport's (EFDS) Me, Being Active series.

She talks about her running experiences as an amputee and hopes that she could show that, although there are barriers, there are no limitations to being active.

In the first of a collection of films to mark International Day for Disabled People, Cassie is joined by Cath, Chandni, Hannah and Wolf, who all share their individual stories and tell us about the benefits of being active.

Everyone has individual motivations. That comes through in each story

Barry Horne, Chief Executive for EFDS

Following on from EFDS’s successful Being Active guide, Barry Horne, Chief Executive for EFDS, said: “We are delighted to release this set of films. To increase the number of active disabled people, we need to understand more about their lives.

"Everyone has individual motivations and different people influence our behaviour. That comes through in each story."
