More than 35 early-career social scientists have received Future Research Leaders grants from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

The awards have been made under the fourth round of the Future Research Leaders scheme, which looks to provide early-career academics - in partnership with their host organisation - with the skill-set required to become the future world leaders in their field.

A total of more than £7.8 million was presented to 38 scientists across 26 UK-based institutions.

Frances Burstow, Skills and Methods Strategic Lead at the ESRC, said: “We are delighted to be awarding these grants which will further research in a wide range of topics stretching across the social science spectrum.”
