Humberside custody death referred to the Crown Prosecution Service

An Independent Police
Complaints Commission (IPCC) investigation into the death of
a man who died while being held in custody by Humberside police has been
completed and a file passed to the Crown Prosecution Service
(CPS).
David Hill, 57, died at Grimsby
police station on 21 May, 2013 after being arrested at his home in New Waltham,
near Grimsby, for the offences of criminal damage and affray.
The actions of five officers
– two who arrested Mr Hill, and three custody officers – have been
referred to the CPS to determine whether there is evidence that warrants
criminal charges.
