Stephen Dalton, Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation, responded to the Royal College of Physicians report 'Being a junior doctor. Experiences from the front line of the NHS'

"The public and NHS leaders alike have the highest respect for the contribution our hard working, dedicated junior doctors make to the NHS and patient care. The findings of this report raise important issues which local leaders are already addressing in partnership with junior doctors.

"All our clinical staff, on the frontline of delivering care, are feeling the strain of unprecedented demand but we need to recognise that, despite this, our staff are rising to the challenges and delivering more care than ever."
