New panel begins work to drive forward public service reform agenda

A panel which will help drive forward the Welsh Government’s ambitious programme of public service reforms is meeting for the first time today.

Chaired by Public Services Minister, Leighton Andrews, the Public Services Leadership Panel is made up of six women and six men with experience of public service reform and innovation and a proven track record of working across organisational boundaries.

The panel will support and advise the Minister on the public service transformation agenda. The Panel’s work to focus on:

Speaking ahead of the first meeting, Leighton Andrews said:

“The Welsh Government has an ambitious public service reform agenda.

“Some of the most inspiring changes we have seen in public service delivery have come from leaders who are prepared to adapt, think outside the box and try new ways of doing things.

“I want to hear the panel’s views on how we can encourage innovation, support collaboration and ensure real collective leadership across our public services.”
