Nick Roberts confirmed as President

Nick Roberts, IT Group Manager for Surrey County
Council, has been confirmed as the new Socitm President at Socitm’s
Spring Conference, which took place in London on April
10.
Nick, who takes over the Presidency from Steve Halliday,
CIO at Solihull MBC, has a long history with Socitm. He was previously chair of
the Socitm South, Socitm's largest region, and chair of the National
Advisory Council (now named Membership Advisory Council). He has also served as
Vice Chair of the Socitm Insight Steering Group (now Socitm Research Steering
Group.
In
an address to members attending the Spring Conference, Nick said that among
other things, he would be building on the work Socitm has been doing to guide
and support councils with the challenges of Information Assurance compliance
and Public Services Network (PSN) connectivity. He also highlighted the
importance of consultation with members and the need to represent
members’ interests strongly through clear
communications.
