Nick Roberts, IT Group Manager for Surrey County Council, has been confirmed as the new Socitm President at Socitm’s Spring Conference, which took place in London on April 10.

Nick, who takes over the Presidency from Steve Halliday, CIO at Solihull MBC, has a long history with Socitm. He was previously chair of the Socitm South, Socitm's largest region, and chair of the National Advisory Council (now named Membership Advisory Council). He has also served as Vice Chair of the Socitm Insight Steering Group (now Socitm Research Steering Group.

In an address to members attending the Spring Conference, Nick said that among other things, he would be building on the work Socitm has been doing to guide and support councils with the challenges of Information Assurance compliance and Public Services Network (PSN) connectivity.
