CUSTOMERS in Wales with concerns over their water and sewerage services can float their views at the Consumer Council for Water’s (CCWater) next meeting in Cardiff.

The water watchdog will be reflecting on ten years championing the interests of water customers in Wales when it meets in public at City Hall, Cardiff on Tuesday, September 22.
Customers will also have the chance to air any on-going concerns about their water or sewerage services in front of senior representatives from Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and Dee Valley Water.

Diane McCrea, Chair of the Consumer Council for Water’s Wales Committee, said: “These meetings are always a good opportunity for customers to raise any concerns directly with us and the water companies that supply their services.

“On our ten year anniversary and the end of my tenure with CCWater it’s also a good time for us to take stock and reflect on how CCWater has helped to improve the water industry in Wales since 2005, while acknowledging that significant challenges remain.”

Both water companies will explain how they have used customers’ cash over the last five years to improve water and sewerage services and enhance the natural environment in Wales.

The Drinking Water Inspectorate will also reflect on the strides that have been taken to improve drinking water quality in Wales. There will also be updates from Natural Resources Wales and Welsh Government.

The meeting is being hosted in Room L of City Hall, Cardiff and starts at 10am. Attendees who would prefer to speak in Welsh at the meeting are encouraged to do so, but are asked to let CCWater know well in advance so that translation can be provided.
