techUK joins forces with international tech voices to make recommendations to G20 countries that will unlock growth, development and job creation.

Ahead of the 2017 G20 Summit, techUK has joined forces with international tech voices to promote innovation, digital technologies, and development.

G20 logo 2017Information and communication technologies are vital to the growth and development of the global economy. As reflected in 2016 through its Digital Economy Development and Cooperation Initiative and Leaders’ commitments in the Hangzhou Communique, the G20 is a critically important setting for the world’s leading governments to outline approaches to managing 21st century tech policy challenges, combatting protectionism, achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and growing the global economy in ways that benefit all countries and people.

However, more work remains to be done. To that end, this year techUK has joined forces from across the global tech community to recommend outcomes to advance privacy protections, enhance national security and data security, and enable the cross-border data flows that power growth, development, job creation, and innovation in all countries.

The recommendations are grouped under the following headings, with the full document available for download at the bottom of the page:

The recommendations will be presented to policy-makers from G20 countries at an event in Berlin on 2 March 2017.
