CRUK: An astounding lack of public awareness about lung cancer has been revealed in a Cancer Research UK study, published recently. When almost 1,500 people were asked to list possible warning signs of the disease that is the most common cause of cancer death - only 5% mentioned a cough that doesn’t go away.

BHF: A simple test that measures blood oxygen levels is the most accurate way of screening newborn babies for congenital heart defects, according to a new meta-analysis. Analysis of 13 previous studies concluded that this screening method, called pulse oximetry, should be adopted internationally as part of routine tests on all newborns.
