BIG: The Big Lottery Fund (BIG) has opened its search for an organisation to set up and run a £200m independent charitable trust that will help ‘turn urban & rural neighbourhoods across England into better places to live’. BIG is calling for expressions of interest from organisations who wish to run the Trust by Thursday 12 August 2010.
CO: Minister for the Cabinet Office, Francis Maude, and Minister for Civil Society, Nick Hurd, have written an open letter to the voluntary, community & social enterprise sectors asking them to share ideas about how they can help reduce the deficit directly with the Office for Civil Society (by20 August 2010). Ideas & examples from the sector can be posted on the Cabinet Office website or e-mailed directly to sectorchallenge@cabinet-office.x.gsi.gov.uk.
