Manning Impex has withdrawn jars of its Buenas brand Macapuno String Coconut Sport in Syrup, with a 'best before' end of August 2013. The product contains sulphur dioxide, which is not mentioned on the label. If you have a sensitivity to sulphites, don't eat this product. The Agency has issued an Alergy Alert.

The product being recalled is:

A single batch of the above product has been found to contain undeclared sulphur dioxide. This makes the product a potential health risk for people who are sensitive to sulphites.

Customers with sensitivity to sulphur dioxide are advised not to eat this product.

The company is withdrawing the affected batch. In addition, the relevant allergy support organisations have been contacted, which will explain to their members why the product has been withdrawn.

No other Manning Impex Ltd products are known to be affected.
