Disabled projects share £800,000 in Lottery cash

Two groups which support disabled people in Tyneside are sharing more than £800,000 from the Big Lottery Fund (BIG) which is announcing 15 awards across the North East yesterday.

North Tyneside District Disability Forum and Tyneside Mind  receive the money from BIG’s Reaching Communities programme which helps those most in need and builds stronger communities. Other projects receiving funding yesterday are in Teesside, Northumberland, Sunderland, Teesdale, Ferryhill, Darlington and Hartlepool.

There will also be encouraged to take part in recreational exercises such as tai chi, yoga, zumba, boccia, arts and crafts, wildflower gardening and volunteering.
