IfG: Population is more negative about idea of coalition government, one year on - new poll

People feel less enthusiastic about the idea of a coalition government than they did a year ago, according to new polling research commissioned by the Institute for Government.

Overall results of a poll conducted by Populus on behalf of the Institute for Government in April show that people are more put off by the idea of coalition government this year than they were when polled on the eve of the May 2010 general election. Then, 55% said it would be a 'bad thing' for no party to win an overall majority, today that number is 63%.
