Edward Davey launches ‘A world you like. With a Climate you like’ campaign

Welcoming the launch of the  'A world you like. With a climate you like', the European campaign to promote climate action,External link Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Edward Davey said:

“The EU is a powerful voice when it comes to making the case for action to tackle climate change. By working closely together, the EU and UK form a formidable partnership, that can bring about real change.  This campaign - ‘A world you like. With a climate you like’ – is another example of the innovative approach to making a difference and I’m pleased to announce that DECC is an official partner. 

“Commissioner Hedegaard’s campaign focuses on engaging the business community, including small and medium enterprises.  I support this strategy of engaging with the businesses – big and small – as they are and will be a crucial player in the long term change we need to bring about..”

Mission

The European Union has ambitious climate goals. To achieve them, real leadership, innovative ideas and participation at all levels are required. “A world you like. With a climate you like“ aims to start a dialogue with you and with everyone who is interested to share visions and innovations on a climate-friendly future.

'A world you like. With a climate you a like.' This is the EU campaign to combat climate change and promote a low-carbon society, run by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Climate Action.

The European Union has taken many climate action initiatives to promote a green and low-carbon economy. More action is needed. Even small actions can lead to significant benefits, not just for the planet and its environment, but also for individuals and their pockets. Saving energy and saving emissions can also save money.

General information

The Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA) was established in February 2010. It is responsible for the European Commission’s international and domestic activities on fighting climate change.
