University of the Highlands and Islands

The Scottish Government has published a report by Dr Michael Foxley into the governance of the University of the Highlands and Islands. This sets out a proposed structure for the management of the university, which has been welcomed by the Education Secretary, Michael Russell, who said:

“The University of the Highlands and Islands is a unique institution that aims to serve the diverse needs of the people throughout the Highlands and Islands.

“There are specific challenges with the management of a complex university and I was pleased to see the helpful proposals contained in this report. I look forward to seeing them in action and helping UHI continue to grow and offer new opportunities to students.”
