We’re recruiting now for our graduate training scheme

Here at STFC we operate at the forefront of international science, with projects ranging from building space missions to creating software for the fastest supercomputer in the UK. Our staff design, build and operate some of the best and most advanced scientific facilities in the world. We’re working on key challenges such as climate and the environment, energy, global security and biomedical research.

If you graduated with a 2:1 or a 1st in engineering, physics, computing science or software design in 2013, or you’re on course to do so in 2014, we want you to come and be part of our cutting-edge work. We have 25 vacancies for graduates to start work in September 2014, at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire, or the Daresbury Laboratory in Cheshire.

If you have the right to live and work in the UK, we can offer you an informal working environment and the opportunity to meet and collaborate with scientists from different disciplines and from all over the world. We combine a competitive salary with a benefits package aimed at ensuring a healthy work-life balance, and we’re serious about career progression.

We’re proud of the quality of training we offer, and use some novel ways to develop the skills you’ll need for the future - the Tall Ships challenge being a particular favourite for our graduates.

John, a software engineer in our e-Science Centre, said he found the graduate training scheme to be a “really rewarding experience”, and has “made some great friends along the way.” And Steph, a mechanical engineer at ISIS, found STFC to be “very supportive in developing the careers of its staff”, and has gone on to achieve chartered status with the IMechE.

So check out the reviews of our graduate training scheme at The Job Crowd, and if you want to join us in our journey into the unknown, click through for more details about this year’s vacancies – the closing date for applications is 3rd November 2013.
